We still don’t know too much about the new group Downpour apart from the fact it features Brian Fair (Shadows Fall), Derek Kerswill, (ex-Unearth, Kingdom of Sorrow), Matt LeBreton (Frozen) and Pete Gelles (Birch Hill Damn). But in the video above, we get a taste of what we can expect to hear from with a demo version of a track called “The Serpent’s Tongue”. It sounds like the full version of the song originally heard on the band’s website as a teaser. The band has also posted the video to Facebook with the following statement:

“DOWNPOUR, the new Massachusetts metal band featuring members and ex-members of Shadows Fall, Kingdom Of Sorrow, Unearth, Birch Hill Dam, Frozen and more are unleashing a lyric video for the demo version of their brutal new track “The Serpent’s Tongue”.

This is the first full glimpse into the groove and power of DOWNPOUR’s sound and a preview of what to expect from their upcoming release scheduled for Summer 2014. The vocals were recorded right after the band’s first rehearsal with Brian and capture the energy and excitement that was in the room as the final piece of the puzzle fell into place. Be prepared. A storm is coming…”

There’s still no official release date for the album, but the original tease for Summer 2014 implies a new album and tour may come about by then.
