Album premiere: My Sleeping Karma go live with ‘Mela Ananda’

Posted by on February 22, 2017

For the last decade, German instrumental four-piece My Sleeping Karma have delivered a trailblazing mix of psychedelia and stoner rock. Over the course of five albums, the band’s music, which they say was influenced most by Iron Maiden’s Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, has drawn from other sounds, like classic rock (Pink Floyd), current (Tool) and post-rock  (Isis, Pelican) thrown in as well.

On Friday (24), the band’s first live album, Mela Ananda, will be released. The album’s title translates to “a gathering of bliss,” and the set, which features songs from all five albums, is absolutely worth blissing out to. Give it a first listen below, and pre-order the album, which will be out on Friday on Napalm Records, here.
