Joe-Satriani-Net-WorthIf you keep wondering how much your favorite bands make when they head out on the road, Billboard‘s Boxscore released their latest batch of earnings and attendance from many artists, and we’ve summarized them here for you.

Let’s take a look at what the past few months have been for all the touring bands who decided to hit the road before the summer season rush. While most of the bands listed have been featured here before, one that it’s interesting to point out is the guitar legends collaboration tour ‘Generation Axe’ comprised by  Steve Vai, Zakk Wylde, Yngwie Malmsteen, Nuno Bettencourt, and Tosin Abasi. These musicians usually do extremely good when they tour on their own with the rest of their bands and it would be logical that the fanbase for each of them would be eager to see them collaborating with each other on the same stage. These are the bands that can go on tour without hitting a Taco Bell or a McDonald’s:

You have to admit that, while ‘Generation Axe’ sounds like a cool G3-like tour with more guitarists and all, those numbers can’t really compare to what the actual G3 organizer, Joe Satriani, did in Florida. The problem isn’t really any of the featured guitarists on the tour but the ticket prices which go up to $170 per piece. Sure, they seem to have made good bank but that’s because of the price for entry instead of actual attendance.

There are others that should reconsider what their reach and attendance really are and that’s Blessthefall and Miss May I. Filling a 1200 people venue with only 12-15% of its capacity must really feel like a financial and logistical blow. Better luck next time, boys.
