Metallica releasing videos for entire album today and tomorrow; here’s the first!

Posted by on November 16, 2016

Well, that’s one way to premiere an album! We’ve all known that Metallica’s Hardwired… To Self Destruct will be out on Friday on the band’s Blackened Recordings album. We’ve already heard one quarter of the 12-track double album. However, by tomorrow, you’ll be able to hear the whole thing, as they’ll be premiering a different music video for the entire rest of the album every two hours until  6am tomorrow. The band have partnered with different outlets from around the world, and starting with “Dream No More,” which just premiered on Gshow Globo in Brazil, you’ll be able to see a new video (and hear a song from the album) every 120 minutes. There’s even a video coming for “Lords Of Summer!”

There are a handful of different directors, including Jonas Akerlund, album package photographers Herring and Herring, and the three that have already directed videos from the album. As for “Dream No More,” it’s a mid-tempo banger along the lines of “Sad But True,” and the slowest song we’ve heard from the album so far. Here’s the schedule:

Wednesday, November 16

12p EST – “Dream No More” (Directed by Tom Kirk) – Gshow Globo, Brazil
2p EST – “Confusion” (Directed by Claire Marie Vogel) – Rolling Stone, USA
4p EST – “ManUNkind” (Directed by Jonas Åkerlund) – Bravewords, Canada
6p EST – “Now That We’re Dead” (Directed by Herring & Herring) – Pitchfork, USA
8p EST – “Here Comes Revenge” (Directed by Jessica Cope) – Triple M, Australia
10p EST – “Am I Savage” (Directed by Herring & Herring) – Ro69.JP (Rockin’ On), Japan

6a EST – “Lords of Summer” (Directed by Brett Murray) – Aftonbladet, Swede
