Last year’s Motörhead’s Motörboat was a rousing success by all accounts, and even before it ended, the organizers said that it would be an annual event. Sure enough, the lineup and dates for 2015’s event have been announced, and it seems like they might have even upped the ante from last year’s. In addition to Motörhead, who will of course be playing, this year’s boat will featured Slayer, Anthrax, Suicidal Tendencies, Hatebreed, Exodus, Phil Campbell’s All-Starr band (which seems to be a nice takeoff of Ringo Starr’s All-Starr band), Crobot, Motor Sister, Kyng, Fireball Ministry, Huntress, and others. The ship will set sail on September 28th, and dock back at Miami on October 2nd.
It will be headed to Nassau, with a stop at the island of Great Stirrup Cay. Rooms will go on sale next Wednesday (25) at 2pmEST at MotorheadCruise.com. Lemmy commented on the cruise, which will help the band mark their 40th anniversary:
“And so the Motörboat sets sail one more time – better get your tickets now, or be left sobbing on the dock! Oh – and we promise not to run out of beer this time!”
Slayer’s Kerry King also commented on the band’s appearance on the ship:
“Slayer is crashing the Motörboat party!! I, personally, will be keeping the bar in business. Hell will be coming with us. Light it up!!!”
Half of the big four on a boat? Motörhead on the high seas? All of that sounds like a pretty solid destination cruise.
