It’s September, which means that along with the return of football, back to school, and pumpkin-flavored everything, the CMJ Music Marathon is just around the corner. This week, it will be taking place from October 15-19th. And while the annual music convention is essentially aimed at college radio and the music industry surrounding it, there are always a solid amount of showcases from labels and websites. This year is no exception.
The first to announce their annual showcase is Metal Sucks and Metal Injection. Taking place on Friday, October 18th at the Acheron in Brooklyn, the two websites have lined up a pretty insanely heavy and underground lineup. F*ck the Facts, Fit For an Autopsy, Meek is Murder, Hivesmasher, and Stomach Earth will be playing the showcase. If you’re thinking that you’ve heard of most of those band names with the exception of Stomach Earth, that’s because the band, which is masterminded by The Red Chord’s Mike “Gunface” McKenzie, will be playing their first show ever at the showcase. Tickets are on sale for the showcase now.
This is one of a handful of metal showcases that will be taking place at CMJ. Stay tuned for a pretty huge announcement coming soon about another popular metal website that might be having a CMJ showcase of their own…
