In a video interview with Wincent Drumsticks, Meshuggah drummer Tomas Haake revealed that the band is, “writing for an album that will hopefully be out in 2016.”
A new album would be the band’s eighth studio release, and first new full-length since the release of Koloss, which came out in 2012. The Ophidian Trek, Meshuggah’s second live DVD that just came out in September of 2014, sold 1,575 copies in its first week of release.
If you’re in California, you can catch Meshuggah at Kirk Hammett’s second annual Fear FestEvil, and then two more shows with Warbringer.
