Many might be surprised to learn that Machine Head’s Phil Demmel has been dating Bleeding Through’s Marta Peterson for two years now. Well this past weekend, the couple made a slightly bigger commitment together.
It was revealed that the guitarist and keyboardist got married in Las Vegas this past weekend. “A hearty congratulations to newlyweds Phil Demmel and Marta Peterson from the entire Machine Head family,” Demmel’s bandmates posted on Facebook. The newlyweds reportedly started dating during Machine Head and Bleeding Through’s Australia and Japan tour in early 2010. A picture of the happy new couple holding their marriage certificate can be seen above.
Meanwhile, Machine Head have announced plans to release a new double live album. Appropriately titled Machine Fucking Head Live, the album was recorded at numerous shows around the world last year. Frontman Robb Flynn had the following to say about the new live album:
“The Head Cases have been so intense on this tour cycle that we had to start capturing the shows, especially with technology making it so much easier to record. We culled some of the best nights where the band and crowd were on fire and made a bad-ass, nearly two-hour, double-live album, which is a great documentation of where the band is at 18 years deep.”
Machine Fucking Head Live is due out on November 13, just in time for their tour with Dethklok. Check out the double live album’s track listing and artwork after the jump.
