Last night in Columbus, the third annual Alternative Press Music Awards took place. Given the very nature of the magazine, not to mention it’s name, the goings-on were more alternative/scene in nature, with Twenty One Pilots taking the top award. However, the much-talked-about collaboration between Rob Halford and Babymetal delivered the goods, so to speak. The band, with Halford leading and Su-Metal backing on vocals, turned in a mini-medley of Priest’s “Painkiller” and “Breaking the Law.” For “Breaking the Law,” Yuimetal and Moametal played guitar, or at least pretended to. And while this was a lot less talked about, A Day To Remember were joined by Scott Stapp to play Creed’s “Higher.”
Elsewhere, The Ghost Inside appeared onstage, two of them with canes and one on crutches, to accept their award for Most Dedicated Fans.Marilyn Manson revealed upon receiving the Icon award that his next album, due on Valentines Day of 2017, will be called Say10. Here’s who won:
