While today is heavily focused on Tool’s first album in thirteen years with Fear Inoculum (read our review here), we’ve heard at least five studio updates this week. Unfortunately, none of these involve another new Tool album. In case you missed it, check out the album updates we heard last week here.

05) Epica share another portable studio update

Epica are currently celebrating the tenth anniversary of their fourth studio effort, 2009’s Design Your Universe. However, these Dutch symphonic metal giants have been sharing studio updates on new music. We’ve previously heard Epica mastermind Mark Jansen’s new portable setup to record new tracks while on the go. And now, the group has unveiled another update via Instagram on “recording new songs.” Hopefully, this means we will see a follow-up to 2016’s The Holographic Principle sometime in 2020.
