geezerLooks like 2015 is off to a rocky start for Geezer Butler. According to TMZ, the Black Sabbath bassist spent the night in jail following a bar fight in Death Valley, CA. Geezer (real name Terence Michael Butler) was reportedly booked at the Inyo County Jail following an altercation at the Corkscrew Saloon on the Furnace Creek Ranch in Death Valley. Butler was charged with misdemeanor assault, public intoxication and vandalism this past Tuesday (1/27) but has since been released “after detox and citation.” Here’s the full statement regarding the arrest from the Inyo County Sheriff’s Department:

“Shortly after midnight on January 27th Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call regarding a verbal and physical altercation that took place at the Corkscrew Saloon located at the Furnace Creek Ranch property in Death Valley National Park. After the Inyo County Sheriff’s Deputy arrived on scene and interviewed witnesses it was determined that there had been an argument that escalated into a physical confrontation – resulting in an individual being struck, and a broken window. Terence Michael Butler a 65-year old man from Beverly Hills, CA was arrested for misdemeanor assault, public intoxication and vandalism. Butler was booked into the Inyo County Jail and released after detox and citation.”

At the time of this posting, Butler has yet to comment on the matter, and it’s unclear if he’ll face further trouble in court over the incident. With that said, though, his arrest seems rather tame compared to his bandmate’s track record… (yeah Ozzy, we’re looking at you!). [additional info provided by Ultimate Classic Rock]
