Paws, Pets & Metal is Metal Insider’s ongoing column on bands with pets, discovering who watches them on the road, and more. Get to know more about these metal furbabies. We caught up with Montreal’s Liva as they reveal their pets have been introduced to metal since the beginning.

Tell us more about your pet(s) and their names?

We have a rabbit named Maya and a large poodle named Herrmann. Since I often work outside around my house, my dog follows me everywhere on my property. Maya lives in her cage, so I have less interaction.

Have you ever taken your pet on tour?

No, and it’s impossible because we have the music gear in the vehicle, there’s no room anyway.

Who looks after your pet while on the road?

Someone in the family, my wife or one of my daughters, takes care of the pets.

What’s your pet’s favorite song or album?

I don’t know. Probably Liva’s music because my dog stays with me when I play the guitar alone.

How did you introduce your pet to metal?

Ever since my dog was a puppy.

What animal charity means most to you?

MIRA: dogs for blind or visually-impaired people.
