It’s been said that a picture is worth a thousand words, but with one simple shot of an amp head, Lamb of God are getting a hell of a lot more than that. The band launched an Instagram account yesterday that included it’s only post, a shot of a Mesa Boogie Mark IV amp with the caption #lambofgodVII. “But wait,” you die-hard fans might be thinking, “wasn’t 2012’s Resolution the band’s seventh album?” Well, yes. And no. Technically, the band’s first album was with their previous name, Burn the Priest, so this will be the band’s seventh album as Lamb of God, even though it will be their eighth overall.
It’s actually not all that surprising that the band are back in the studio. Even last year, Randy Blythe said that what the band was writing sounded “pretty monstrous,” so it’s obvious the band have been working on new music. And with the band on tour this Summer with Slipknot, it would stand to reason that they might want to be promoting a new album. Here’s the picture that’s got the internets all abuzz:
And while singer Randy Blythe is all over Instagram, he mentioned that he doesn’t usually talk about Lamb of God on his personal account, but he acknowledge the band’s account, while also stating that he had nothing to do with the picture that went up:
