5) Ring
The Japanese one. It’s super scary without showing much, and I like that too. Sadako coming out of the pit, but also this man pointing at the sea, the calm, the lack of colors, great vibe for a great movie. And it takes place in my favorite country in the world so I can only love it. I love it as much as I dislike the American version.
4) Street Trash
Such a funny movie. I used to write down the dialogue (in French) with a friend of mine so we wouldn’t forget a word, and still, to this day we talk to each other with the same tone as the junkyard director. I love this movie. Everyone and everything is dirty: the cops, the bums, the girls, and all the cool kills. They sever a penis and play football with it — what more do you want?
3) Martyrs

*National Anthem* A French movie, and I’m really proud to mention it because this one is one of the most brutal movies I’ve ever seen. I actually found myself going “Ouch!,” or “Oh no!” a few times, especially through the second part of the movie. Actually, writing this it makes me want to watch it again.
2) The Omen
I originally put Hellraiser here but realized I don’t like it as much as I love The Omen, which I shamefully had forgotten to put here. I love all Satan/antichrist related stories. The actors are great, the scenes are great (the decapitation, the graveyard), and Jerry Goldsmith’s music is awesome. How many bands have marched on stage with this as an intro?
10) A Serbian Film
Just because the ending is just…VERY wrong, extremely, so this movie had to be there. I could also have put Human Centipede, Bad Taste, Candyman, Nightmare on Elm Street 3, The Descent, Hostel, but you only gave me 10. I love horror movies. Alright, that’s it for now. I’m going to go watch Martyrs now. Cheers!
