Before Suicidal Tendencies, Sepultura and other heavy bands were added to Metallica’s Orion Music & More, many complained that the festival wasn’t metal enough. However, we doubt that adding a car and motorcycle show to the two day event was exactly what fans meant by wanting more “metal.”

Yet that’s exactly what fans are getting, as the festival has announced the addition of the Orion Custom Car + Motorcycle Show. Curated by James Hetfield himself, the show will display over 300 of the best customs, hot rods, muscle cars and custom motorcycles on the festival grounds (Bader Field in Atlantic City, NJ) throughout the weekend. Among the celebrity cars featured will be Hetfield’s 1936 Auburn Roadster Slow Burn Kustom and 1937 Lincoln Zephyr Voodoo Priest Kustom, while awards for each category (customs, hot rods, muscle cars, custom motorcycles, and fan favorite) will also be given out.

Entry for the show is limited to 1972 and earlier American made customs, hot rods, muscle cars and custom motorcycles. Those who do get selected will receive two day GA passes to the festival. The deadline for applications, which can be filled out online, is May 15.

Video of Hetfield explaining his love for custom cars and motorcycles, as well as the reasoning behind the Orion Custom Car + Motorcycle Show., can be seen after the jump.
