In what was looking to be an amazing year for festivals, 2020 came to a screeching halt when COVID-19 hit the masses. One after another, shows and festivals alike, first rebooked dates, and then finally threw in the towel all together on what was looking to be a dismal year for the industry and cancelled.
Danny Wimmer Presents (or DWP as they’re usually referred to) was no different! Announcing a massive list of festivals throughout the year being lead by none other than the mighty Metallica at the helm for most, DWP came out of 2019 swinging hard.
Earlier this year, among the darkest of moments, when they officially cancelled their last event for the year, Aftershock 2020, they promised that Metallica would headline 2021, as well as newly reunited My Chemical Romance.
Usually by this point in the year we have multiple festival announcements coming out, and everyone starts picking their favorite destinations and booking time off. With a few smaller festivals announced for next year, Danny Wimmer and his company have officially released the dates, and lineup for Aftershock 2021.
As promised, Aftershock 2021 will see Metallica headline two nights, performing two unique sets, as well as My Chemical Romance who were also slated to play in this years cancelled version.
Adding a fourth day, a Thursday evening concert, is just topping on an already sweet cake. The diverse lineup will include Limp Bizkit, Rancid, The Offspring, Social Distortion, Rise Against, Volbeat, Parkway Drive, and many more.
The current lineup is as follows, but is subject to change.
