Don’t forget, tomorrow, is Metal Insider day at CMJ! Things will be starting off at 3pm at Saint Vitus Bar (1120 Manhattan Ave, Brooklyn NY) with a free screening of Scott Ian’s spoken word DVD/CD, Swearing Words in Glasgow. You’ve already probably gotten to hear Ian talk about the first time he ever got drunk (at the hands of Lemmy), but that’s scratching the surface of the stories on the DVD. You can go to that for free, and what’s more, there will be Smuttynose beer on special the whole afternoon. It’s totally free, but if you think you might be attending, email scottiancmjrsvp@gmail.com.
After a brief respite, things pick up again at 8. We’re really proud to present our third annual CMJ Metal Insider showcase. With Incite, ’68, Black Crown Initiate and Toothgrinder playing, this is an amazing night of talent. A few years from now, you’ll be comparing this to when Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall and God Forbid toured together. With Incite touring behind Up In Hell, their third album, and the other three bands having just released (or about to release) their debut albums, this bill is stacked with new talent, and we’re really psyched to present it at one of Brooklyn’s newest clubs, The Wick. What’s more, we’ll have Toothgrinder’s Schizophrenic Jubilee EP to give to the first 50 people in the door. It’s not even out yet! Tickets are only $12, and you can get them here.
