While there’s a Facebook page stating that there are 1,000,000 Black Sabbath fans for Bill Ward (which it should be noted, only has 51,542 likes), it’s not like Bill Ward’s participation in Sabbath has been a given. He’s been with Sabbath more times than any other drummer, including for all of Ozzy’s studio albums in the band. But Vinnie Appice, Eric Singer, Cozy Powell, Bobby Rondinello and Mike Bordin are among those that have logged time behind the skins with Black Sabbath. And like Clufetos, some of them were just live drummers that never recorded an album with Black Sabbath. Let’s be honest, with the exception of Tony Iommi, Black Sabbath has essentially been a revolving door of musicians. There have been at least six bassists, drummers and vocalists EACH aside from Geezer Butler, Ward and Ozzy. And it’s not like there 1 million fans clamoring for Bev Bevan to get back in the band (775, actually).
