Metal Insider’s Top 5: Reasons Brad Wilk Recording With Black Sabbath Makes Sense

4. It’s Not Like Wilk Has Been Super Busy Lately.

What else has Brad Wilk been up to lately? Sure, he’ll be playing with Dave Grohl in Park City on Friday, but that’s a one-off. Rage just celebrated the 20th anniversary of their landmark self-titled album, but Tom Morello recently put the kibosh on any RATM plans past the release of the box set as recently as last month. Needless to say, there are many fans that would look forward to a fourth album of original Rage material (Rengades was all covers), but not only does the band not appear to be moving forward with a new album, it doesn’t seem like they’re going to be doing any touring any time soon. Other than selling his house, that leaves plenty of time for Wilk to drum on the occasional album from one of the most influential bands in rock.
