3) Guns N’ Roses (Appetite-era)
Guns N’ Roses started a legitimate phenomenon with the release of Appetite For Destruction. Rock enough to appeal to Aerosmith and Rolling Stones fans, heavy enough for metal fans to like, and poppy enough to cross over to pop fans, GN’R were dangerous. Fast forward to today. Since the 1986 release of Appetite, the only remaining original member of GN’R is frontman Axl Rose, and they’ve only released three albums of original music (and only one since 1991). Iconic guitarist Slash has kept himself busy with Velvet Revolver and a few perfectly average solo albums. For his part, Axl has banned fans from wearing Slash shirts to GN’R gigs. While Steven Adler, Izzy Stradlin and Duff McKagan are also unlikely to all play in GN’R, we’ll probably see a follow-up to Chinese Democracy before Slash and Axl share a stage again.
