New & Noteworthy is Metal Insider’s weekly column highlighting some of the newest rock and metal releases coming out each week. This week will see highly-anticipated works from the likes of Green Day, Sleater-Kinney, Saxon and Neck Deep, among many others. Don’t forget to check out our weekly playlist below. Enjoy!
Green Day, Saviors (Reprise): The Bay-Area pop-punk band releases their 14th studio album, which they describe as “raw and emotional. Funny and disturbing. It’s a laugh at the pain, weep in the happiness kind of record.”
Sleater-Kinney, Little Rope (Loma Vista): Pioneers of the riot grrrl subgenre, Sleater-Kinney return with their 11th studio effort. Partially informed by the grief of Carrie Brownstein losing her mother and stepfather in a car accident in 2022, the album explores “how we navigate grief, who we navigate it with, and the ways it transforms us,” while also being called “one of the finest, most delicately layered records” the band has released.
Neck Deep, Neck Deep (Hopeless): One of the more brilliant pop-punk bands of the last 10 years, Neck Deep are set to release their self-titled fifth album. The band went back to their roots with this one, recording it at their personal studio with their bassist Seb Barlow producing and engineering it.
Saxon, Hell, Fire and Damnation (Silver Lining): The prolific British heavy metal band releases their 24th studio effort. According to Blabbermouth, the album “strides the perfect line between confident, current power, and gloriously irreverent flexing of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal muscle which Saxon co-created.”
