April 11, 2025 Release Highlights:
The Mars Volta, Lucro Sucio; Los Ojos del Vacio (Clouds Hill):
The prog rock band’s “atmospheric and moody” ninth studio album combines their “signature sound with jazz and electronica influences, celebrating their origins while pushing forward with fresh innovations.”
Cabal, Everything Rots (Nuclear Blast):
The Danish band’s fourth studio album is described in their bio as their “most focused and ferocious,” where “Ear piercing electronic parts and unsettling soundscapes fuse together with bone-rattling riffs and uncompromising breakdowns to create a sonic attack on the senses that’s sure to please and surprise any fan of extreme heaviness.”
Elvenking, Reader Of The Runes – Luna (Reaper Entertainment):
The Italian folk metal band conclude their three part Reader Of The Runes series with a finale that is “mysterious, melancholic, but also incredibly epic.”
Epica, Aspiral (Nuclear Blast):
The Dutch symphonic metal band “explored new musical and lyrical frontiers” on their ninth studio effort, which was inspired by a 1965 Stanisław Szukalski sculpture that “stands for renewal and inspiration.”
Magnolia Park, VAMP (Epitaph):
The pop-punk-meets-hip-hop band goes in a heavier direction on their fourth studio effort, a concept album telling a “dramatic tale of crimson blood and chrome-plated courage through their own mix of man and machine, stacking whirring electronics and industrial undertones alongside sledgehammer breakdowns, walls of detuned guitars and Roberts’ seam-splitting vocals.”
Mark Morton, Without the Pain (Snakefarm):
The Lamb Of God guitarist releases his second solo album, which, according to antiMusic, draws “on his southern roots and embrac[es] a mix of southern rock, blues, and country influences, all while staying true to his signature guitar work.”
Spin Doctors, Face Full of Cake (Capitol):
The rockers release their first album in 12 years. Said frontman Chris Barron of the album, “fans are going to be knocked out by this new record. It’s got that vintage Spin Doctors sound of ear candy and denser material that harkens back to Pocket Full Of Kryptonite but with years of experience under our belts.”
