Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Without Mercy as they’ve been spending this time revisiting old hobbies.
What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?
The quarantine has definitely been an odd sort of scenario for someone like me. I’m so used to running at 11 the entire time with all cylinders blazing and this pandemic forced me to kind of reset and dial back on the throttle. It allowed me to revisit some old hobbies and get a lot of house cleaning done. Both metaphorically and literally, it allowed me the time and attention needed to get some personal projects on the go and make so headway on some life aspects I was in dire need of.
Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?
I have been on this major classical kick lately. But I’ve also been making sure I leave time aside to check out plenty of new artists and releases whenever I can. To be more specific, these are often new artists to me and not necessarily the world if that makes sense. I’d name drop a few but I am slightly embarrassed to admit who I am just discovering….. *blush
A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?
Oh man! I’m so stoked about this: STICKY LEMON CHICKEN!! I found this killer recipe by Gordon Ramsay and I’ve been spending some time with his cooking courses. This dish is unreal!! Do yourself a favour and look it up. You won’t regret it.
In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?
I’ve been deep into every aspect of this question lately. Books: I’m trying my best to finish some that I set goals for but it’s been a serious task. Here’s what I’m currently reading: Extreme Ownership, The God Delusion, A Brief History of Time. Video games are my jam! I’m currently playing a few: Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us, Mortal Kombat 11. As far as TV shows go: I just started Peaky Blinders… so let’s see where that goes.
What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?
Listen up, everyone. This is an unbelievable time and no-one really knows what to do or even how to deal with. Try your best to stay focused on loved ones and friends. Get some air and try to exercise every day. It really makes a difference. Try and stay in contact with people you care about and with hobbies and interests. It really works, I promise.
