Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with King Ov Wyrms as they’ve been spending this time catching up with projects.

What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?

It’s been a very interesting time trying to work around this Quarantine. It’s given me quite a bit of time to work things out for several of the projects I’ve been involved with as of late most notably King Ov Wyrms and wrapping up the album Lord Ov Thornes. I’ve also been taking up some time engineering from my home studio for a few bands to help pass the time.

Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?

Lately, I’ve been trying to go back and listen to some albums that really inspired me over the last couple of years, for example, Hail Spirit Noir’s “Mayhem In Blue,” Farsot’s “Faillure,” Bloodbath’s “Unblessing The Purity,” and Ulcerate’s “Everything Is Fire” to name just a few.

A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?

I’m a big fan of oriental and Asian style food, lately, I’ve been making a lot of noodle dishes like Lo Mein which is my absolute favorite but there has been a lot of sushi in the house lately as well. Aside from Asian food I tend to make a lot of Mexican-style food at home like Enchiladas, Carne Asada, Chilaquiles and Birria.

In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?

I’m a big fan of the Witcher series which I just recently spent more or less this whole year replaying from the first game to the third which took up a ton of my time. I’m honestly not a fan of much TV, I don’t think I’ve watched a TV show since maybe 2010? I mostly watch Youtube instead of music related things and “Lets Play” channels like GameGrumps, OneyPlays, Ola Englund and Keith Merrow to name a few. Lately, I’ve been getting back into my comic books and to a lesser degree manga, I just got my hands on a few volumes of Berserk which has been an anime I grew up watching but for those that don’t know never ended in the anime so if you want to truly enjoy the story the rest of it is in the manga.

What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?

The best advice I can give is to take the time to finish up any home projects that you have available. I myself can’t go a day in my life without some goal or project that keeps me going whether it’s big or small like finishing an album or maybe taking the time to learn something new to cook. At the end of the day, it’s the little things in life that will keep you together.
