Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Above Snakes’ Dax Dabs as he’s been spending this time writing.

What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?

Lots of writing and demoing honestly. We’ve been hunkered down at our studio most of the time while obviously staying 6 feet apart, It’s definitely been tough but we’ve just been trying to stay positive about the whole situation. Of course I’ll always pass the time by enjoying some dabs too haha. 

Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?

Always listening to music! We’ve been listening to a lot of “Ocean Grove” recently. A great band from Australia that you should definitely check out if you haven’t heard them yet. Our favorite song is “Junkies!” Some really great playlists worth checking out are “Good Future Club” on Spotify  and “New Rock Now” on Pandora. You can find our debut single “Adrenaline” on both of these playlists!

In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?

I’ve been watching a lot of Curb Your Enthusiasm, lots of Netflix, Trailer Park Boys, Hardy Bucks, People Just Do Nothing are all amazing shows you should check out. We’re huge sports fans and luckily with sports being back now, we’ve been keeping busy watching tons of basketball and hockey and super excited for football! I myself am a huge fan of sport video games on PS4 like Madden, NBA2K, MLB the show, those games definitely keep me busy.

What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?

Stay positive! Take up a new hobby, call that friend you haven’t spoken to in years, discover new music. Hopefully touring resumes soon and everyone can enjoy live music again with their friends!
