Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Aborted bassist Stefano Franceschini as he’s been spending this time studying and cooking.

What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?

I’ve been studying a lot (working on my MA thesis), teaching bass lessons and cooking. A lot of cooking.

Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?

Yes indeed! I would recommend ‘Death Metal 2’, a Spotify playlist, and generally I really liked the new Benighted and Werewolves albums. Definitely worth checking out!

A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?

Like I mentioned in the first answer, a lot of food! My girlfriend and I have been making homemade fresh pasta (we’re Italians, so…) like ravioli, tortellini (google that s**t up, totally worthy), but also pizza, pies, curry, Asian food etc.

In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?

I finally got to watch “Doctor Sleep” and I loved it. I also watched “The Lighthouse” and I would recommend it as well. As far as books, Lovecraft, Poe and weird fiction in general are taking up most of my time.

What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?

It goes without saying that safety always needs to come first, so keep you and your loved ones safe but at the same time try and stay as productive as possible – pick up new hobbies, read a book, watch some movies, do whatever you can to keep busy but most importantly listen to Aborted!
