Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week.
The last time Old Man Gloom put out
two albums at once, they actually had a third album: a fake promo album featuring edited material from both albums. So I was a bit wary when I saw the band was releasing two albums again, but so far it seems like its all legit this time around and significantly less confusing. Then again, it’s only been just shy of two weeks, so who the hell knows if the band has a troll up their sleeve.
Also, I know I usually use this intro blurb as my occasional little soapbox in this corner of the Internet, and you’d think I’d have something big to say given current events. Fact is, there are other people saying things better elsewhere than I ever could, and while it’s important to know when to speak up, it’s arguably more important to know when to listen and hear what someone else is saying. So when you’re done looking over the charts and return to whatever news of social media you might be scrolling through, I encourage you to listen and hear others, because right now the people have a lot to say.
