deftones gore album coverMetal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week.

Happy 4/20, where stoner metal fans everywhere prepare to smoke some dank kush and play Sleep on repeat. Actually, let’s be honest, they were already probably doing that. In any case, there’s plenty to celebrate today besides the existence of Dopesmoker and Domino’s Pizza. For example, Deftones continue to cultivate a wide audience with their latest album landing in the top five, just shy of the number one spot nabbed by The Lumineers (you know, the ones that go “ho-hey”). Also, at this point in the year, the charts are absolutely stuffed from bands with big debuts to the ones who lucked out on selling a couple hundred copies thanks to Bandcamp. Please enjoy the list while I contemplate the next time I can use the term “dank” on this site.

Amon Amarth, Jomsviking (Metal Blade) #80, 3,150 sold

A second week drop of 65%.

Graves at Sea, The Curse That Is (Relapse) 240 sold
