MOST DEDICATED FANS presented by Xbox LIVE
Zach: Black Veil Brides are going to win without question. How do you think their guitarists would’ve won “best guitarists” at last year’s award show if not for the fans voting? And you know what, they actually deserve this one. Their fans truly are loyal to Black Veil Brides, a passion not many rock bands experience nowadays. This award is the perfect way to acknowledge BVB.
Kodi: Black Veil Brides has utterly insane fans, and we’re going to see it proven here.
Bram: Only Black Label Society could start a motorcycle gang tomorrow if they wanted to. The only prouder and merched-out metal fans are Turbonegro’s. That said, they’re probably too busy at Sturgis or Charming to bother to vote, so this’ll go to Black Veil Brides.
Matt: Black Veil Brides probably have this one in the bag. I’m hoping that Rammstein ends up taking it, but I’m not holding my breath.
ALBUM OF THE YEAR presented by Orange Amplification
Zach: L’Enfant Sauvage really should win. Hell, WE named it the number one album of 2012. However, the same reason why I predict Lzzy Halestorm will win best vocalist is the same reason why I think The Strange Case of… could win. Of course, it’ll probably make many metal fans (who probably didn’t vote, hence why it won) cry bloody murder. But like I said, Revolver loves them and so do their readers. The only other album I think might beat Halestorm out is Soundgarden’s King Animal for similar reasons (besides the fact that it’s Soundgarden).
Kodi: This is the most interesting category because of the difference in nominees. Deftones was Revolver’s editorial pick and a deserving one, Gojira was our choice and the one I’m rooting for, and Soundgarden had a high-profile return. Stone Sour and Marilyn Manson would probably be locks in other years, but like Zach, I don’t see how Halestorm wouldn’t take the crown.
Bram: Marilyn Manson for sure! Oh wait, no one cared about that album. Stone Sour! Wait, that album didn’t exactly do anything either. Deftones should win, but I’d be happy if Gojira did. It’s the more daring of the two albums.
Matt: I would love to see Koi No Yokan win this (can you tell I’m favoring Deftones a lot?). It’s a superb album in every aspect from heavy explosions to romantic atmospheres. L’Enfant Sauvage is more than worthy of winning as well, and it’d be great for Gojira to get some recognition. But, as I’ve said before, Halestorm are very likely to win this in addition to previous categories.
