Rob Zombie knows his way around a camera, having directed House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects, a handful of Halloween remakes and a spooky Woolite commercial. Now he’s teaming up with That ’70s Show/Ted actress Mila Kunis for Trapped, a “half hour comedy series” for Starz. The show, which Kunis and Zombie are executive producing with Zombie directing, will take place over a single night in the home of a wealthy family under attack by a murderous cult,” according to Deadline. The show was created and written by Joey Slamon, who also helped write Arrested Development.
“We’re excited to work in partnership with Rob Zombie as well as Mila Kunis and her Orchard Farm Productions associates Susan Curtis, Cami Curtis and Lisa Sterbakov on this horror comedy series,” Starz Managing Director Carmi Zlotnik said.
We didn’t think that Starz was a place for original programming until we remembered Spartacus. There’s no word yet on when this will debut but it should be pretty cool to see Zombie flex his comedy muscles, since most of his films have been more Texas Chainsaw Massacre-like. And hey, mad props to Mila Kunis for having a production company.
