Corey Taylor wears many hats, and one mask. He’s the frontman of Slipknot (that’s where the mask comes in), the frontman of Stone Sour, an actor, a spoken word artist and an author. And while his third book, You’re Making Me Hate You – An Uncommon Guide to Common Sense, had been announced last year, the date’s been moved back one week, to July 7th. Also, he’ll be rolling up his sleeves and promoting the book by doing a hybrid of a book tour and a solo acoustic spoken word tour, much like the one he did in 2011.

While his first book, Seven Deadly Sins, was about his life as a sinner and his second, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Heaven, was about supernatural encounters, this book makes it sound like Taylor’s a modern-day Andy Rooney, venting about things that he hates:

Whether it’s people’s rude behavior in restaurants and malls, the many indignities of air travel, eye-searingly terrible fashion choices, dangerously clueless drivers, and—most of all—the sorry state of much modern music, Taylor’s humor and insight cover civil society’s seeming decline—sparing no one along the way, least of all himself. Holding nothing back and delivered in Taylor’s inimitable voice, You’re Making Me Hate You is a cathartic critique of the strange world in which we find ourselves.
