The tour formerly known as Metal Alliance just can’t catch a break. Last week, the tour lost its name and one of its featured bands, as Entombed A.D. were sent packing, apparently through no fault of their own or Deicide’s. As for the headliners, they decided to soldier on with the remainder of the tour, which ends on Friday. They had some words for the organizers of the tour, however. Unfortunately, for completely separate reasons, both Lorna Shore and Hate Eternal have had to pull out of the tour. Yesterday, Lorna Shore announced that there were “multiple passings” in several members of the bands’ families:
ATTN LS FANS:
To those attending or planning to attend the remaining dates of The Deicide Headliner/Metal Alliance tour we are sad to say we will not be able to finish the rest of the tour. Unfortunately there have been multiple passings in a few members family’s and in this time of need, they are choosing to be with their families and we hope you can support our decision as we feel family is always first. We will be sure to be back in the areas we cancelled this year and our apologies are the most sincere. We highly advise you check out the rest of the tour and thank them for having us out! We apologize again and thank you for sticking with us.
Then, in Lubbock on Sunday, Hate Eternal’s Erik Rutan suffered a hand injury when a guitar rack fell on top of his hand during load-out. He was forced to miss the following night’s show in Austin, and a doctor recommended he take the next four or five days off, meaning that they too had to pull off of the tour:
An update re: Erik’s hand injury
Due to the nature of the injury and persistent swelling, the doctor has advised Erik to not use the hand at all for the next 4-5 days minimum. As such, this spells the end of the Deicide/Metal Alliance tour for Hate Eternal.
The immediate plan is to get back to Tampa and have Erik’s hand reevaluated again, and figure out when he can play again.
Plans are in the works for a fall tour, and we’ll be doing our best to hit the places we’re missing this week. We’ll update you all on that just as soon as we have news.
Thank you all for your patience, understanding and well-wishes. We’re looking forward to seeing you all on the road again this fall.
Fortunately, the ill-fated tour has just three dates left. Unfortunately, those dates are in some pretty big cities: Dallas, New York and Baltimore. While other sites have reported that the remaining three dates are cancelled, tonight’s Dallas show is still on, according to the The Gas Monkey’s twitter:
For all those rumors spreading like wild fire, @DeicideBand is STILL on tonight! Doors 6pm! http://t.co/kIZrr18m8G

Update: Another date goes down the drain after the show scheduled for this Thursday 18th at the Gramercy Theater in NYC got officially cancelled. So far, only the Baltimore and Dallas date are still up, with Deicide still performing at the Dallas show tonight, as the venue reiterates here; and Black Crown Initiate and Svart Crown taking the leading role for the Baltimore show on the 19th and you can find more information here.
