Next week, another rock and metal-themed boat cruise will take to the seas, as the 2015 ShipRocked cruise takes place from February 2-6. And while many are looking forward to the cruise, which features Sevendust, Chevelle, and headliners Limp Bizkit among many others, not everyone is as stoked about it – like Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland, for one. He left a comment on his Instagram account of a suitcase and hat in which he didn’t even bother to conceal his contempt for those on the cruise.
“Getting all packed up this week for Broatchella 2015. It’s the same as Brochella but it’s off land. Can’t wait to see me some roided out tribal tattooed spray tanned Jell-O shot filled bohunks do their best drunk MMA impressions in the top deck mosh pit. Whenever we aren’t on stage, I’ll be curled up fetal position in my cabin, palms up, while I desperately cling to the last week of my thirties as it slips through my hooked fingers. So, I’d like to give a shout out now to all the other over-the-hill late nineties/early 2000s bands going on the cruise: Let’s give these people the raging alcohol fueled nostalgia fest they’re paying for guys! I know we can do it if we tune down low enough!”
Maybe turning 40 is making Borland take stock of his life, calling his band and all the others on the the cruise over-the-hill. Borland has left the band twice before (well, once, but when they went on hiatus in 2006, he didn’t plan on returning, even though he was on board when they reunited). The band’s Cash Money debut, Stampede of the Disco Elephants, still doesn’t have a release date, even though several songs from the album are already out. Guess we’ll have to see how long Borland can keep himself in check.
