It’s been about two years since the Scorpions announced that their album Sting in the Tail (as well as the extensive tour in support of it) would be their last. By now, then, you’d think that the German metal veterans would have completed their “farewell” tour…right? Well in case the release of Comeblack wasn’t enough of an indicator, the answer is no.
In fact, the Scorpions have already promised that their Final Sting World Tour will run through early 2013. The band has already booked a ton of dates around the world and special festival appearances (including Germany’s Wacken Open Air) for 2012, and just recently announced North American dates. The trek will see the Scorpions playing amphitheaters across the U.S. and Canada this Summer. Given the tour’s time frame, this could actually be the last time fans in America will get to see the Scorpions live. That is, of course, assuming that they won’t extend the tour even further after 2013…
