Get More: That Metal Show

By now, you know that That Metal Show got the chance to interview Guns N’ Roses’ Axl Rose and guitarist DJ Ashba for a special episode that will air this Friday, November 11, on VH1 Classic. In fact, you’ve also probably already checked out audio and video previews of the interview. However, Rolling Stone has premiered a new and longer preview that features Rose himself discussing why GN’R’s shows start off so late.

You can watch the preview for yourself in the player above, but in addition revealing that a lot of the time mistakes out of his control are to blame for delays, Rose admitted the following:

“A lot of this goes way, way back to ’91 when we were super late going onstage. That really has more to do with that I shouldn’t be on tour. I went on tour for three reasons, our manager had booked a tour without authorization and then I’m going to be sued for it. He also told me that if Slash does heroin, it’s my fault. And Slash is pressuring me. I should not have agreed to that tour.”

So not only is Rose shifting the blame onto others (though isn’t completely denying any blame), but he also throws in a comment about Slash. In addition, Rolling Stone also caught up with That Metal Show co-host Eddie Trunk, who gave a further inside look into how the interview came to be. Trunk also revealed that as they were waiting for Rose and unsure if the interview would still happen, they also interviewed other band members, crew and openers Buckcherry. However, it’s unclear whether those interviews will be featured in the special, though a live performance clip of GN’R performing “Live And Let Die” the night of the interview (in Miami, FL) will be included.

You can read Rolling Stone’s recap with Trunk about the show’s interview with Rose online, while the latest teaser clip can be seen above. Once again, That Metal Show’s interview with Axl Rose will air on Friday, November 11 at 11 pm on VH1 Classic.
