Jerry Cantrell has released a video for the title track of his upcoming album I Want Blood, offering a final preview before its release next Friday (18th). The four-minute track opens with a menacing bass line from Duff McKagan and a building drumbeat from Mike Bordin before Cantrell’s ominous vocals enter with the line, “I Want Blood.” The song, co-produced by Cantrell and Joe Barresi, was recorded at Barresi’s JHOC Studio in Pasadena, California. The album also features McKagan, Bordin, Robert Trujillo, Greg Puciato, Gil Sharone, and Lola Colette contributions.

Cantrell will play a sold-out show at Pappy & Harriet’s before embarking on a brief South American tour, with an expected North American tour announcement soon.

Cantrell comments:

“There’s a confidence to this album. I think it’s some of my best writing and playing and certainly some of my best singing. There are large chunks of this record where I felt like my face was pressed to the ceiling of my abilities, operating at the top of my capacity.”
