It was just last month when Chimaira guitarist Rob Arnold confirmed that he was joining Six Feet Under as their new second guitarist. But now it looks like Arnold will be joined by fellow Chimaira guitarist Matt DeVries while on the road. DeVries has revealed that he will be filling in on bass during Six Feet Under’s upcoming European tour. The guitarist confirmed the news via Twitter on Friday (March 25), saying the following:

“Down in Tampa rehearsing with @sixfeetofficial getting ready to fill in on bass for the European tour! Stoked!”

Since then, Chris Banes and the band have released multiple pictures taken during the new lineups’ rehearsals via Twitter/YFrog. DeVries’ addition to the band makes him the third member of Chimaira (both current and past) to join Six Feet Under. Drummer Kevin Talley (who played on Chimaira’s 2005 self-titled album and toured with them until 2006) replaced drummer Greg Call shortly before Arnold joined in February. DeVries will be filling in for bassist Terry Butler (who left with Call roughly at the same time) temporarily. We’ll keep you posted if more develops regarding Butler’s permanent replacement.
