Yesterday (6th), we were devastated to hear about the passing of former Volumes guitarist Diego Farias. It has been reported he was only twenty-seven years old. Shortly before his death, Farias announced his departure from the group to focus on other projects. No cause of death has been revealed at this time. The band has issued a brief statement as they are still processing their thoughts on the tragic loss of their friend.
The band commented:
“We are absolutely devastated by the tragic passing of Diego Farias. We are trying to cope and process this as it all seems so surreal. We send our love and thoughts to his brothers Gus and Andres. His mother and father, and his entire extended family.
As we collect our thoughts we will then be able to properly convey them more, but for now…we love you Diego, rest in power. – Volumes”
The music community have been reacting to the sad loss via social media and you can read a few below:

RIP to Diego Farias. I have fond memories of pumping VIA in my wagon with the boys when we first started to travel outside our hometown to play and record music. It will always be a soundtrack of those young days etched in my memory. Love to all close to him.
