As we saw with bands such as Mötley Crüe, Rage Against the Machine, Vio-lence, Mr.Bungle, Possessed, Exhorder, and many more that have disbanded/went on a hiatus and returned, there’s always a chance for a group to reform. They can also reappear for a quick reunion just to disappear again and sometimes come back once more, as we’ve seen with Fear Factory and Faith No More. At some point, it’s easier to take a band’s break-up, split, retirement, or hiatus with a grain of salt. Here are 60 bands that have disbanded in the 21st century so far and all of this can change at any given moment. We also added our own opinion on whether or not any of these groups will return. Question remains: will we see any of them make a comeback in the roaring metal 2020s?
