Last year was a rough one for Warbeast. Vocalist Bruce Corbitt found himself forced to retire from the band after being diagnosed with stage three cancer of the esophagus. This was in addition to him undergoing heart surgery a few years before that. The band played their final show with him last year, and we started off the year with the news that his first treatment was unsuccessful. However, there was a glimmer of hope in February, after a clinical trial was found that might help him. It turns out that things are going much better for him than anyone thought.

In a video posted on Facebook, the vocalist announced that his blood counts have stabilized back to normal, and has been approved for an injection that could help him even more. He refers to it as a “miracle” in the video, and we’re inclined to agree. He renewed his vows with his wife Jeanna last weekend, suggesting that he’s expecting to be around for a lot longer. Will we see him back onstage with the band? Not yet, but we’ll see how things go.
