Philip Anselmo has been keeping himself plenty busy in recent years. If he’s not running his label, producing King Parrot, touring with Down, or releasing solo albums, he’s presenting the Housecore Horror Film Festival. It was at last year’s festival that his old band Superjoint Ritual got together for a reunion show, performing simply as Superjoint. And now, according to drummer Jose Manuel Gonzales, who performs with him with his band The Illegals, Superjoint Ritual are taking the act on the road.
AXS.com spoke to Warbeast singer Bruce Corbitt, which was when Gonzales confirmed off camera that the band would be reuniting later this year. While Superjoint Ritual had been a band since 2003, it wasn’t until Pantera disbanded that they recorded and released two albums, 2002’s Use Once and Destroy and the following year’s A Lethal Dose of American Hatred.
