The good times and fun riffing of Red Fang has it’s own retro-stoner rock and roll vibe, and with the October 14 release of their fourth album, Only Ghosts, on Relapse Records, the band will have their own retro pinball game to go along with it. Granted, it won’t be the band’s actual own game, since they’re not quite on the level of Guns N’ Roses, KISS or Metallica just yet. However, this might be even better. Pabst Blue Ribbon, the band’s drink of choice that’s also made cameos in many of their videos, has their own pinball game “The Pabst Can Crusher.”
Yes, that’s right, beer has it’s own pinball machine. That’s the best news since 1983’s Tapper was a Budweiser-themed game in which you played the bartender (but was eventually changed to Root Beer Tapper, because kids). The game, which will probably be in a bar that serves PBR near you soon, was unveiled at the San Diego Comic-Con and was developed in partnership with Stern Pinball. It features a retro design (like analog score as opposed to digital) with design by Dirty Donny. It says that the band’s music will be featured on the game, although it doesn’t say what songs. You can hear “Flies,” from the forthcoming Ross Robinson-produced album, in a trailer for the game, however. The band also premiered the first installment of a “making of” series for the album, and announced a tour with Torche and Whores that kicks off in November. Check those dates below:
