If you were one of the lucky ones that made it out to Record Store Day at Rasputin Music in Berkeley, California this past Saturday, you got to see Metallica, the ambassador of the event, play a nine-song set. If you weren’t lucky enough, however, you’re still lucky, since the band captured it on video and posted it on their Facebook page. Given that the band were celebrating the re-releases of Kill ‘Em All and Ride the Lightning the previous day, it should come as no surprise that the 55 minute-long set was comprised of almost all of songs from those two albums. Also unsurprising, but extremely lame, is the fact that with very few exceptions, all of the douchebags that got a special chance to see one of the biggest bands in the world in an intimate setting chose to stand still and document it on their cell phones instead of living in the moment. Hopefully they’ll look at this footage and realize how stupid they look.
Here’s their set:
“Helpless” (Diamond Head cover)
“Hit The Lights”
“The Four Horsemen”
“Ride The Lightning”
“Fade To Black”
“Jump In The Fire”
“For Whom The Bell Tolls”
“Creeping Death”
“Metal Militia”
