It seems like we’ve been talking about Deftones’ new record, possibly titled Gore, for a really long time and that’s because the band has experienced some delays since frontman Chino Moreno softly confirmed its released for September last year. After that, the album got pushed to November due to some production delays which then got pushed back once again to tune fine details like artwork and such.
Finally, after many months waiting to hear some good news, guitarist Stephen Carpenter was able to confirm the release for the new album during an interview with ESP Guitars during NAMM 2016. Carpenter said during the interview:
“[We’re]sitting around waiting for the release of our new record. It comes out April 8th. We have some dates in Texas in March, in May/June we’re off to Europe for some festivals out there. We’ll play for all the people who are interested and want to hear it.”
Mark your calendars and try to catch the band during any of the dates already scheduled like Shaky Knees Festival, or Carolina Rebellion.
