Things have been moving pretty quickly in the world of former Immortal singer Abbath. Last month, the band unveiled the first official track from his self titled debut, coming in January on Season of Mist. Then just last week, they gave us a taste of Judas Priest, via their cover of “Riding on the Wind.” However, on Monday, it was announced that the band’s drummer, “Creature,” as he was known, has departed the band. And now, just a few days later, he’s lost his guitarist as well. Per Valla has announced that he’s no longer with Abbath either, via an interview with Collide:

“After having played as session guitarist with Abbath since May this year, I have recently decided that it is time for me to leave the band for personal reasons. I thank the guys for bringing me along on such an awesome ride, and for all the new friends I made in the process. I wish the guys the best of luck in the future.”

Being that we’re talking about Abbath here, none of it really matters that much. The album hasn’t even come out yet, and given that the band plays with corpse paint on and bears Abbath’s name, the frontman is really the only member of the band at this point that really matters. Valla, who played with Vredehammer, will continue to play with them.

Abbath’s self-titled album will be released on January 22 on Season of Mist.
