Although Winter doesn’t officially start until late next month, it’s coming early this year, thanks to Abbath. The former Immortal frontman has released his first official single from his forthcoming self-titled album. “Winter Bane” follows “Fenrir Hunts,” another song featured on the album that was premiered several months ago via a live video. The seven-minute long “Winter Bane,” which premiered on Metal Hammer, is well-produced, and with it’s driving rhythm, and Abbath’s signature vocals, has the makings of an anthem. Here’s what Abbath says about it:

“We are proud to present Winter Bane as the first recorded track from our upcoming album. This song comes with many of the qualities that are the essence of this band: epic, honest, powerful, and a heavy headbanger.”
