This past Friday (December 11), Art Of Dying released its latest album Rise Up via Better Noise Records. However, in addition to fronting the Vancouver hard-rock outfit, Jonny Hetherington also has his own line of all-natural hot sauce. With that in mind, we asked Hetherington to share a few of his most metal inspired recipes that incorporate his line of HOT sauce.

1) Thin Crust Bacon Pineapple Pizza
This recipe is my go to comfort food these days and perfect for dark December evenings. Crack open a bottle of red wine, let the oven heat up your pad this winter and enjoy.
The Crust
-Mix 1 tablespoon of yeast, 1 tablespoon of honey and 2 cups of warm water into a bowl. Let sit for 15 min.
-Pour mixture into white flour mixing with your hands until doughy. Knead for 10 min, roll into a ball and leave for 30min.
-Knead a last time and roll out into a thin crust with a rolling pin (vodka bottle works as a great rolling pin if you don’t have one kicking around)
Sauce
-Puree a few fresh tomatoes and a green pepper in a blender. Add a can of tomato paste, fresh garlic, shallot, salt and pepper to taste. Add oregano, basil up or any other fresh herbs you have around..
-Simmer for 15 min in a pan with olive oil.
Fire up your oven to 500 degrees.
-With the back of a spoon spread the sauce over the crust. Cover with shredded mozzarella. Scatter with raw bacon pieces and chunks of fresh pineapple.
-15 min in the oven or until crust browns. Use parchment paper on your pan for no sticking/easy clean up.
-Slide onto a cutting board, cut into pieces. Sprinkle a little sea salt, freshly cracked pepper and fresh basil leaves.
-Douse with Pineapple Habanero Hot Sauce. Try not to eat the entire thing, impossible.
