It can’t be said that Megadeth doesn’t embrace the future. While there are probably plenty of bands that don’t even know how to use Twitter, Dave Mustaine has been actively appearing on Periscope, the live-streaming video app. He used it last month in Australia to announce he’d fired his guitar tech. And in the past few days, he’s been popping up again on the app. On Saturday (7), he discussed the band’s first US tour in support of Dystopia, their forthcoming album. And while many rumors have suggested that Lamb of God, whose Chris Adler drummed on the forthcoming Megadeth album, would be their tourmates, Mustaine put the kibosh on that, without naming anyone in particular:

“[I’m] really excited about coming back to the States and doing our North American tour there. The dates are coming along pretty well. And we’ve got three bands we’re gonna be taking out with us there. Not completely sure about confirming all of them, but if they do confirm, the guys that I’m thinking about — no, it’s not Lamb of God for North America — if those guys are on it, I think it’s gonna be a cool, cool lineup.”

That’s a bummer, but Megadeth has always been able to consistently line up solid tours in prior years, so we’re looking forward to hearing who will be on the forthcoming tour. It should be announced pretty soon.
