As we pointed out just earlier this week, anything Converge’s Kurt Ballou has his hands in is usually an instant seal of approval. Be it his own band, Kvelertak, Code Orange or even the National Anthem, it’ll probably wind up sounding good. Especially when he’s connecting with an already solid band, like High on Fire. That’s the case for Salt Lake City’s Cult Leader, which consists mainly of former members of Gaza. The band released their first EP, Nothing for Us Here, last year, they’ve since followed it up with a second EP, Useless Animal, that’s streaming now. That EP was produced by Ballou, as was their just-announced full length debut, Lightless Walk. The album will be out on October 16th on Deathwish. Check out the tour dates following the album’s track listing.
