We’ve been pretty vocal about how excited we are for Beavis And Butt-Head’s return to television. And while we’ve been finding the previews and trailers for its return hysterical, we also couldn’t help but notice how the sneak peeks lack anything metal related. We knew that the show would be making fun of reality TV shows and YouTube clips in addition to music videos. However, all of the clips we’ve seen so far have only shown Beavis and Butt-Head taking aim at The Jersey Shore and 16 And Pregnant. So that has left us wondering: would the show continue to play heavy metal music videos like they use to?

Well this past weekend at the NY Comic Con, our buds at Metal Injection got to partake in a roundtable discussion with the show’s creator Mike Judge. During the discussion, Judge was asked whether there will be a “metal presence” in the new episodes. While he admitted that it has become a lot harder to clear music videos in general, Judge did say that the show will still feature music videos, including a few from hard rock bands. While that may be slightly disheartening to hear, since the chances of seeing non-mainstream metal bands in the new season is less likely, it’s still better than nothing.

During the roundtable interview, Judge also recalled the time he met Grim Reaper following an episode where Beavis and Butt-Head took aim at one of the band’s videos. While he was afraid they’d be mad at him for the jabs they took (especially for saying Steve Grimmett’s face sucks), Judge said that the band were actually good sports about it all. You can watch the entire roundtable interview with Mike Judge in the video above. Beavis And Butt-Head returns to MTV on October 27.
